Everything you need to know about the London FACEIT Major

Majors are exciting. The best CSGO teams in the world all pitted head to head doing everything they can do in order to secure victory. The players take risks and true legends are born. Famous moments owe it to the Majors, such as the ‘Olofboost‘ or Coldzeras 4k on mirage.

The upcoming major in London will be the thirteenth Valve-sponsored Counter-Strike: Global Offensive championship with a prize pool of $1,000,000 (or about £750k). It’s FACEIT’s first Major and is being held in the 02 arena, Wembley.

Teams have a few ways to get their ticket into the Major. There are four minors; America, Asia, Common Wealth of Independent states and Europe. As challengers to the 2018 London Major, we’ll see Rogue and compLexity (America), Renegades and Tyloo (Asia), Hellraisers and Spirit (CIS), OpTic and NiP (Europe). Full details of who won each minor can be found here.

Another option is to be in the last eight teams of the last major, giving instant challenger status to the next major.

Lastly, the legends. These are the teams that came top eight in the previous major, being Cloud9, FaZe, MIBR, Na’Vi, Mousesports, Fnatic, G2 and Winstrike.

Make sure you watch the majors on Twitch or via the CSGO client. The Client allows you to control the camera yourself, though twitch is available on your phone. Remember to sync up your Steam account to your Twitch account as watching the Majors can result in free cases with signatures of your favorite players.

If this is your first major, we highly recommend you try to keep up to date with the matches. Pick a team to support and watch them play – It’s one of the most exciting events in CSGO.
