Av3k joins Endpoint.
You can only be the esports pioneer of so many games before you need to take a step back and enjoy the classics. Endpoint have decided to go back to its roots in First Person Shooters and have picked up Maciej ‘Av3k’ Krzykowski, a legend in the Quake esports scene. Few people in the world can say they hold the accolades of Av3k and we can’t wait to see his opponents Quaking in their boots as they meet their Doom. (Okay, We’ll stop.)
The youngest Quake Champion ever, being only sixteen during his first success, is no small feat. Av3k. In fact, this is just one of his many impressive accolades during his time as a Quake legend, and he shows no signs of slowing down now. He won the ‘Breakthrough player of the Year’ in 2007, has been the champion at multiple championships including DreamHack, the Electronic Sports World Cup and the World Series of Video Games. This isn’t even mentioning that his accomplishments span across Quake, Quake III, Quake 4 and Quake Live. It’s no exaggeration to say that we are dealing with the best of the best; and with Endpoint behind him, we’re excited to see where his victories will take him next.
I’m very glad I will have the opportunity to work with endpoint. I have heard good things about the organisation and I had a chance to speak and met Pete for the first time already a year ago and he seemed like a passionate and professional man. Looking forward to participate in the quake pro league in 2019-2020 season and will be surely playing some of the online matches in Endpoint’s bootcamp house!Av3k, Quake player for Team Endpoint.
Younger players may be asking ‘What is Quake?’ Well, the chances you haven’t heard of the title are incredibly slim, but lets get you up to speed. Av3k will be competing in Quake Champions, a free to play game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Quake is considered the game that revolutionised the way we think of movement in First Person Shooters, such as giving players the ability to bunny hop, strafe jumping and rocket jumping. The first sprite based game was produced in 1996 and has become a house hold name within gaming circles. The esports scene sees players duke it out in exciting 1v1 fights, where raw skill matches the players against each other to see who has what it takes.
Av3k will attending a total of five LAN events and weekly online battles in a single year with Endpoint starting with Quakecon 2019 which is taking place in Dallas, TX, with three ESL competitions to take part in, finishing at Quakecon 2020. We look forward to backing this legend as he takes on the Quake scene one foe at a time.
